Environment is not a big restaurant

Many children and youth grow thinking that all animals and plants are food for humans. We should end such wrong conception. We should not be predators anymore, but protectors of our planet.

Definitely we should fight this idea that nature is a big restaurant and that we humans are the leading predators. It is just because we are in a high stage of technological development and in the exploration of the stars that our responsibility for the care of our planet should honor such advances. We should not be depredators any more if we can dominate the forces of production in a sustainable environment.

It is possible to end famine in the planet just with a share responsibility among the nations and a new concept of a single humanity, beyond languages, religions, races and ideologies. If a next meteorite would impact our planet, it will not respect any border, but our single, fragile, blue and high complex planet.

Our modern high technologies should make us more near to the conception of environment, to the belonging to the cosmos than before. The new technological man should keep in his/her heart the same attitude of the indigenous tribal peoples of the five continents just because one reason: we are amazed with the complexity, littleness and wonderful performance of our iPhone, laptops, Curiosity robot running along on the Mars surface, the Voyagers leaving the solar system… and every day we increase our human ingenious, but all these things could not reach the high complexity, perfection and wonder of the most tiny micro living creature, the tiny life of an insect, any animal, any plant, our atmosphere, our oceans, the calibrated perfection of our solar system.

For this reason, we should teach to our children and youth, the generations of the new technological era that our planet is the most perfect software ever known and that we, humans, are connected  to it and depend from it and so, as intelligent creatures, we should protect it.
